Pecha Kucha Night
Pecha Kucha Night, a viral event originated “as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.” Originated in Tokyo, the phrase has a different pronunciation and literally translates to “the sound of conversation.”

Tonight was the first time I attended such an event and a few of the speakers were already familiar, such as Graeme Berlund from The Cheaper Show, and Bob Kronbauer as a founder of Vancouver is Awesome. The Ridge Theatre was an interesting venue and I enjoyed the cozy seating of the plush chairs.
The highlights of Pecha Kucha events were the speeches, discussions ranging on topics from eco-sustainability within dated machination technology; such as recycling old cogs and large-sized bolts to create new objects of furniture, the local stream of fashion designers and artists, mathematical equations integrated into real-life philosophy, and restorations of downtown historical landmarks into a modern lifestyle.
