  • A few days ago I learned through a mutual friend on facebook that an old classmate, from our high school days, had recently died in a freak car crash while vacationing in Australia. I send my sympathies and condolences to his family and dear friends: he is a person whom no one ever had bad things to say, lived life cheerfully and expectantly, and will be missed.

He once added me on flickr late last summer and suggested we meet for photos sometime, which we never got around to doing. When I checked his flickr profile again today I realized he had had very few contacts (he was still very ‘new’ to photography) and had included me as a “friend” status (his ‘only’ friend in fact). I think right then and there my heart broke.

One of my close friends went to elementary school together with him, and had only just seen him the weeks before he left, making plans for a dinner rendezvous :( The memorial will be held at Bethany Baptist, Richmond BC at 3pm on Sunday February 15 2009. There is also an webcast link.

    Highschool Graduation Memo:
“The journey is the destination. While facing the challenges that strike me, I look back with the fondness at the end of the road that has carried me throughout the hills of Cariboo Hill. My family was there in the beginning and continue(s) to enrich the adventure. I thank them (for) their generosity and their support. To those I leave by the roadside, smell you later.”

Sorry. Andrew was my classmates and not related to me. There’s a memorial to him on a group within facebook if you wish to contact his family.
