Concurrently confused by settings of aperture and shutter priority modes (has it really been that long dear lens baby?) Oho! and for a brief five daily sunshine nocturnes, my favorite photo walk activity partner Ash was in town again!

    hello fisheye boy!

Three years ago we would wander downtown for hours per day, skipping classes or afternoons for a camera lover stroll. Late spring and early autumn hours, exploring the city in digital format (with our trusty point and shoots in tow’).

Away between home in Miami and now a barista coffeeshop nouveau he resides in Portland, Oregon! Now Ash is in love with film cameras and I have a dslr baby precious to coddle (and punish!) with for summer afternoons and spring mornings.

We wandered from main street skytrain stn. (science world) towards the privacy of Olympic Village before thwarted by security. Alas! It was a strange journey, revisiting old haunts where abandoned buildings and factories once resided now filled the duplicity of condominiums and flashy Winter Olympics decals.

Across the Cambie Bridge, we stumbled upon a tourist entrapment labeled per usual as an ‘Edgewater Casino’ with outdoor vendor markets and merchandise a la chinese new year’esque. Daunted, by the heat and swarm of tourists in Yaletown, therefore we hiked to Robson via back streets, met big brother Rbo with Mr. Snowman and shared a little heaven at Bubble World (coconut and honey green tastes, respectively).

More walking, another coffeeshop Starbucks stop and away to English Bay! There weren’t quite as many people that there was to be expected, plenty of pups and dogs with their identical owners, lounging on lawns watching the waves return. Sunset photos and too many staircases later, we headed back to Granville Station from the Burrard Bridge.. in time for dinner rendezvous. Six hours walking and no buses!!

I hope he visits again soon, can’t hardly wait!
