Maintaining this little workspace as a creative, thoughtful and idle thinking ‘blog has been a difficult task to accomplish over the past three years.. if only because, the address is reprinted on photography business cards and as a redirection of ‘identity for the online persona. Cultivation nonsensical no-how on marketing the self as a separated, copied from the user-interface of an pix elated personality.
Several attempts to do so, have resulted in an restless retro-nostalgia for the way things once were, or a variety of different approaches to play-work styles of writing. As a writer, and a photographer, a designer, a linguist-focused person.. and most importantly, a young adult finding her place in the world.*
It will be one version to referred as “famous,” and yet an altogether entirely different matter to truly create a difference in this world. The tongue in cheek reference to these, alias and handles, would always carry a disclaimer on the tip of the tongue.
“In after years she found… listening to eulogies of great men, felt less moved and inspired by praises of their splendid gifts than by the sight of some good man’s patient labor for the poorest of his kind.
Her heroes ceased to be the world’s favorites and became such as Garrison fighting for his chosen people; Howe restoring lost senses to the deaf, the dumb, and blind; Sumner unbribable, when other men were bought and sold.” (#)
To share in the fun and fame, but what for! Those whom are the world’s favorites are as yet, sometimes not also those who create change for the struggles of humanity. That is my unselfish wish for the upcoming months of the countdown to the next, next birthday: to cultivate a union of self that can accomplish both.
*Seriously, that temperamental and impatient 20-year-old self o’mine thought that I would have figured out this shit by now, or died trying.
