“The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. Led by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and CEO Jeffrey Jaffe, W3C’s mission is to lead the Web to its full potential. Contact W3C for more information.” (x)

If you’re not already on the bandwagon of web standards, I highly recommend that you watch these live-streaming videos of amazing presentations and session speakers from the web standard’s organization first conference, W3Conference: Practical Standards for Web Professionals.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) also discusses establishing standards on topics that ranges from Web Design and Applications, Web Architecture, Semantic Web, XML Technology, Web of Services, Web of Devices, Browsers and Authoring Tools.

This year’s theme is focused on HTML5 and the Open Web Platform, a somewhat fitting timing in the recent news of Adobe’s decision to shelve Flash on the mobile web (or was that web?).
