He had to be a genius or nothing, and since he couldn’t be creative he turned to bohemianism, eccentricity, social versatility, conquests. – Allen Ginsberg

Wandering by a White Rock

July 13, 2012. Vancouver, BC – White Rock. Photos of an afternoon at White Rock. Click the photo to see the whole series.

Summertime in our little city of Vancouver has, at last, unfurled her wings of heatwave daze upon the cement and stone buildings, overshadowing our curious insect-like manner of wandering underneath overshadowed buildings. It’s a strange sensation, standing on a street corner and looking above wondering where the rooftops end and the endless blue skies begin.

Rob and I decided to escape the city for an afternoon to, instead, wander around White Rock beaches. We visited the not-too distant seashore a few years ago to observe tourists and the locals in their de-naturalized habitats, devour french fries and exploring the piers atop sandy beaches.

However, when we visited this time, the tide was high and low, immersing the landscape in an endless world of sea-weedy waters. (EST)
