Merry Festivus!

I may have gone overboard on festive *impulse* Christmastime shopping this year. For those who aren’t in ‘the know,’ last year at Christmastime I was dumped by the now-ex partner, and so the remainder of 2011 has been a sort of granting secret and archived inventory of “wish-fulfillment”. After all, a girl is always in the process of taking care of herself!!

Also I learned a lot about developing a sense of style, based on my personal interests, materials of the clothing, classic vs trendy items, and dressing appropriate for every occasion..it’s something to learn over and over again, dressing my best and expressing a happy personality without going overboard for social approval or being defined by what my friends are/aren’t wearing (and keeping quiet when someone doesn’t recognize the difference, yet! ;) Some of these were purchased and some are still on the wishlist. Can you guess which is which??

Pocket Timepieces

Ever since I stumbled blindly on my way home after a jaunty gallivanting trip from Portland, Oregon last year late springtime, my mind has been swimming with brightly colored fishes that flock under the phrase of steampunks, victorian era rape of lock modesty and vintage handiwork of mechanical inspirations that were once rooted in Hellenic machinery like the astrolabes charting cartography of the evening heavens and celestial bodies, with immeasurable curiosities of the antikythera navigator systems.

Last week, Front and Company, a beloved fashionable piece de resistance shop brimful filled with consignment pieces ranging from the odd well heeled shoes and jaunty neckpiece, to evening wear dresses with other fashionable accessories, hosted their annual Rummage Sale featuring wintertime-spring wardrobe and home hardware with goods for heavily discounted prices ranging from $50 and below.

I am besotted with antique ticking pushpin pocketwatches, with a dull soothing tick of the hands that dictate time indeed waits for no man..

From loud ’80s dresses to her signature slogan tees, the clothes capture the singer’s iconic rock style perfectly.

Poketo! Art For Your Everyday

Wallets are odd-shaped bundles that only carry significance based on their contents.

Carrying a multi-packed card case for every sort of whatnot and wealth combined with bus transfers and photo ids always made me feel a little nervous. I wanted a something something that was artistic, unique, and still had an elegant form and aesthetic function. And that was when I discovered Poketo.
