In anticipation for the tempestuous and windy rainy days of autumn in Vancouver, I’ve been researching online for weather-ready gumdrop boots: rubber-like material in colorful tones (or patterns), that are easy to slip on-off in between outdoor exercise.
One of my main problems with the availability of rainboots in the cityshops is their knee-high lengths and susceptibility to cracking toe corners in dryer weather. Running between classes, photowalks, or other errands in the rain requires something versatile yet can also be switched with a pair of toe-comfort flats indoors. There is nothing worse than having to run around inside a building for hours in ONLY clunky rainboots!

I ordered these boots from an Korea shoe warehouse online. Initially, I suspected that quality was subpar: alike to local retailers Claire’s or Ardene’s material that are only worn for a season or two. However, once they arrived, it was evident to see that they were perfect for the rainy weather in Vancouver.

The boots are a size 39 (China), which translates to size 8 USA/CAN. However, because of the ‘raised heel insert inside the boots, it was a little difficult to slip my feet in at first. I’m stuffing it with crumpled newspapers, hopefully enlarging the narrow opening and destroy the warehouse & shipping smells.
