These are a few iphone photos from the January 2012 meetup of HTML5 Vancouver, featuring Dave Shea (mezzoblue.com, csszengarden.com and author of The Zen of CSS Design) speaking about drawing with HTML5 Canvas. For more information about the location of the meetup, you can find out more at http://www.visioncritical.com/. All information provided here related to the event can be found at the HTML5 Vancouver meetup section.

Other notable speakers included:

Faruk Ateş does creative things on the Web, like Modernizr: an Open Source library that helps you take advantage of cutting-edge features in HTML5 and CSS3 today. Prior to going independent and working to make building great websites easier and faster, Faruk was the Product Designer at Apture, now acquired by Google, and did a three year stint as a UI Engineer at Apple, where he helped bring modern web development techniques to the Online Store and MobileMe.

Stephanie Hobson is a front-end developer at BCIT who works on templates for their various CMSs. She successfully advocated to have the most recent version of their site built in HTML5 and is looking forward to making the design responsive. Their team is experimenting with geolocation for use in a mobile site for their upcoming open house.

John Boxall is the CTO of Mobify. He works extensively with client side web technologies, developing techniques to prioritize content and manage resource loading on mobile browsers.

my bedroom-dwell space

My bedroom-workspace is currently experiencing an identity crisis: do I continue maintaining this chaos with re-organization methods, or discard everything that I own?

Earlier in August, I was fortunate enough to witness the beautiful wedding of two very loving people, Jenny Thai and Andrew Nip!

My first introduction to these two was at a interaction-design related Design Nerds meetup at the 3rd volume of Pecha Kucha in the autumntime of 2008, and ever since then, with older sister Jenny, we’ve exchanged postcards while travelling in Tuscanny and Portland, sharing scrumptious slices of cheesecake at Trees Organic, and always, Jenny has been an sympathetic and fun-loving woman with a serene grace that surround her, while Andrew is a fellow with an optimistic and cheerful demeanor that, no doubt that is a reflection of the glow of love between the two happy couple.

These are a few of the photos from their special day together. Thank you for the lovely thank-you card and wishing you joy and exciting adventures in your new life together in Copenhagen! xoxoxo

note: These photographs were provided for and by their lovely wedding photographer, Jamie Delaine (excluding the thank you card and instagram), and these featured below in my blog were post-processed by myself. Originals of the photographs can be viewed on their wedding photographer’s Jamie Delaine’s portfolio and blog.

also titled: A Long and Overdue Post on Mananetwork Photography.

During the summertime months, prior to rejoining the academic workload of the fall semester, there was a short period of time where I was working as a social media coordinator and photographic assistant to Tomasz Wagner, a freelance photographer that focused on wedding and engagement photoshoots. And while that is the primary source of his income, as true for the many other photographers , Tomasz also has an intense passion for circumnavigating the globe on his yearly ‘travels’, India, Europe and Asia and next, Mexico, will soon be added.

As a photographer, who also specializes on commercial automotive photoshoots alongside rock concert photoshoots, he builds an intimate relationship with each of his subjects, setting them at ease and inspiring the best of them to the surface, which as we all know, is half the work of a compelling and narrative photographic composition. I am by no means, as skilled at deftly handling the technical details of a DSLR and suitable eye-wary lenses as he.

However, the fact that for what I lack towards technical specifications, contrasts to that there created is the artistic love for colors, narrative compositions and an overwhelming sense of upliftedness that, I hope, is brought to each and photograph taken by me. These photographs featured below are a few examples of his work, created and composed by Tomasz, with an additional post-processed and edited version by me, below the original.
