Day 1 - Volunteering
Arrived early in the morning and met the other volunteers (Cameron Cavers & Jim DeLaHunt), also reunited with Maxine and John from last year’s conference
We spent the first half of the morning setting people up with name badges and a complimentary swag bag from BAGGU.
Day 2 - Sessions
During the first two days everyone scattered like sheep to different speakers and sessions; attentive to speeches and slides presentations, there were also new questions to query and funny quotes and of course, iphones to jot down notes or upload photos. You can view the notes here.
A couple sessions I attended: Five Essential Composition Tools for Web Typography by Kimberly Elam, What Makes a Design Seem Intuitive? by Jared Spool, Information Visualization as a Medium by Eric Rodenbeck, Where’s Your Web At? Designing for the Web Beyond the Desktop by John Allsopp & Dave Shea, Return of the King of Web Standards by Jeffrey Zeldman, Innovation is Overrated by Indi Young, Movement by Matt Webb
I would like to say “thank you” again to the organizers (Maxine, John, Dave, Derek) for allowing me to volunteer at the conference workshops and the judges who voted for my snowboard design
